Paid on Friday 23 October 2026: when is Payday Super due?

Fund must receive the super by
Tuesday 3 November 2026

Send it by Thursday 29 October 2026 if your clearing house takes 3 business days to pass it on.

The same date in NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT and NT. 7 business days from payday, counting every state-wide public holiday in Australia (ATO QC105846).

Why Melbourne Cup does not move it

Tuesday 3 November 2026 is Melbourne Cup in VIC, but councils in parts of that state observe a different day instead, so it is not a public holiday for the whole of the state. Only whole-of-state holidays stop a day being a business day, so Tue 3 Nov is counted as an ordinary business day.

Counting it as a holiday would give Wednesday 4 November 2026 — one business day later than the ATO's date, which is the dangerous direction. The deadline stays Tuesday 3 November 2026.

Check it with your own lead time. Open this payday in the free checker — it shows the same date, lets you set your clearing house's real cut-off, and can email you before the send-by date. If you pay on a regular cycle, every date is already in the 2026–27 calendar.

Planning information, not tax, legal or financial advice. The legal test is the date the fund receives the money with the information needed to allocate it. The 3-business-day send-by figure is our default, not your clearing house's — check its cut-off. Confirm anything that matters with the ATO or your registered tax or BAS agent.
